1. Scope
Shared Definitions
- Warranty
- The voluntary repair warranty provided by Lightning Tech in addition to any non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
- Repair
- Repair, replacement, installation, restoration, fitting, adjustment, testing, cleaning or associated technical work performed on a Device.
- Replacement Part
- A part or component supplied or installed by Lightning Tech, including screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, camera lenses, back glass, speakers, housings, frames, flex cables, seals, adhesives and other components.
- ACL
- The Australian Consumer Law set out in Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as amended or replaced from time to time.
This Warranty Policy explains Lightning Tech's voluntary repair warranty. It should be read with the Repair Terms & Conditions and does not limit rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
2. Warranty Periods
- Standard repairs: 3 months from completion.
- Original Quality parts: 6 months from completion.
- Service Pack parts: 6 months from completion.
- Different periods may apply if stated on the invoice or job record.
3. What Is Covered
The voluntary warranty covers defects in workmanship and defective Replacement Parts supplied and installed by Lightning Tech for the specific repair.
4. What Is Not Covered
- Accidental damage, impact damage, liquid damage or misuse after repair.
- Damage caused by third-party repair or unauthorised modification.
- Software faults unrelated to the repaired component.
- Normal wear and tear, battery wear outside a defect, accessories and customer-supplied parts.
- Manufacturer warnings inherent to the selected part or repair method.
5. Claim Process
Customers should contact Lightning Tech with the job number, invoice number, phone number or email used for the repair. Lightning Tech may inspect the Device before approving a claim.
